Solstice Dance Collective (SDC) is an independent contemporary dance group based in Meanjin/Brisbane, Australia. We are dedicated to exploring unique and innovative ideas and translating them into a compelling visual language. Solstice Dance Collective is committed to pushing the boundaries of contemporary dance and offering a platform for creatives to express and showcase their artistic visions. Throughout performances, we aim to educate and engage audiences, using dance as a medium to explore complex themes that provoke thought and emotions.

Esmée Henry
Artistic Director & Founder
Choreographer
Esmée Henry is the Artistic Director and Founder of Solstice Dance Collective. This year she choreographed and produced the two-time award-winning work “Exocytosis’ at Anywhere Festival in Brisbane. Additionally, Esmée has choreographed for The Independent Dance Project 2024 and Merge Dance Theatre 2023-2025. She has performed as a part of Connect Dance Ensemble in “PPL PWR’ at Anywhere Festival 2023, “Hope” with Royal Academy of Dance Made By Project and Merge Dance Theatre 2017-2023. In 2023, she graduated from Queensland College of Dance with an Advanced Diploma in Professional Dance and Elite Performance. Esmée’s unique and gestural style is unlike anything audiences have ever experienced.
